What can be more perfect than a child? Their little hands and feet. Their playful expressions. Their delicate touch. Even in mischief, they're really so adorable...usually. And with each new day comes a new treasure of discovery.

As parents we all have a universal impulse to somehow stop the hands of time. We can imagine nothing more perfect then our children exactly as they are, here and now.

I got into photography to capture these moments, artfully and eloquently. To preserve all the little surprises of youth. To capture the ethereal beauty of a child's world. Little moments that come and go, literally in the blink of an eye.

My work is casual to evoke the unique personality of my subject, and modern to tell their story in a contemporary way.

For me, every shoot is a new discovery of youth.  

There are a lot of talented photographers out there but I tend to take a very different approach to my work. As a parent I know how special and fleeting childhood is. Capturing the perfect photo and the perfect expression of your child is what drives me. Sometimes that means I stay a little longer to capture them when they're just right. When I come to your house, your child sets the pace toward perfection, not the clock.

You'll also notice that my packages include the full resolution imagery. Many photographers choose to charge separately (and dearly) for these files. For me, it's just part of the package. In the end, the perfect outcome to me after a shoot is not how many prints you buy from me, but how many of my photos make it to your walls, bookcases and mantles. While I offer premium printing services, I never stand in the way of my clients using their imagery however they choose. For this reason, I never charge separately for electronic files. 

I am the proud mother to two children, my daughter Amstel and son Zealand.
